About the Event
On August 24, the Kentucky Intellectual Property Alliance (KYIPA) welcomes Jeffery Langer, General Counsel of Zoeller Company, and Robert Sterne, Co-Founder of Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox, for perspectives on strategizing international IP filings.
Join us to learn more about when it makes sense to look at an international IP strategy rather than just domestic and what some of the foundational blocks of IP are for an international strategy.

About our speakers:
Jeffery P. Langer is General Counsel at Zoeller Company which is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky. He leads the legal, compliance, and risk management team for its over 1300 manufacturing employees worldwide. Dr. Langer began his career at Finnegan in their Washington, DC and Shanghai offices. Following his time at Finnegan, he was Senior Counsel at Philip Morris International in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, where he managed a team responsible for the intellectual property related to PMI’s Solaris and iQOS product including procurement, enforcement, and related commercial matters. Before joining Zoeller, he was a partner at Stites & Harbison in their Alexandria, Virginia office where he focused on litigation and commercial matters with a focus on intellectual property. Dr. Langer is an executive member of the International Intellectual Property Commercialization Council and a Board Member of the Association of Corporate Counsel, Kentucky Chapter. Dr. Langer holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Systems from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in addition to his law degree from the Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law.
Robert Greene Sterne is a director of Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox in the Electronics Practice Group and co-chairs the firm’s Patent Office Litigation Practice. He has extensive expertise in AIA post issuance proceedings and concurrent patent litigation, USITC 337 investigations, Federal Circuit appeals, EU and China enforcement, reexamination, patent monetization and licensing, and corporate intellectual property best practices (CIPO and Board of Directors). He is a registered U.S. patent attorney and has spoken and written extensively on these topics.
