Want to learn more about international initiatives to measure and analyze the gender gap in innovation? The Kentucky Intellectual Property Alliance (KYIPA) welcomes Dr. Intan Hamdan-Livramento of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to discuss initiatives that the Innovation Economy Section is currently undertaking to address the gender gap in innovation. Dr. Hamdan-Livramento will discuss activities including development of tools to disambiguate gender based on names using WIPO's World Gender Name Dictionary, a guideline on best practices when disambiguating the data, and research avenues they intend to investigate. She will also provide an overview of other opportunities to learn more from WIPO and others on how this issue is being addressed. About Dr. Intan Hamdan-Livramento Intan Hamdan-Livramento, Ph.D. is an economist working in the Department of Economics and Data Analytics at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva, Switzerland. She is responsible for conducting and supervising areas of the section’s work relating to the economics of innovation and intellectual property (IP). Intan has published articles on issues intersecting IP, innovation and less developed economies. Prior to WIPO, Intan worked at the International Monetary Fund and the World Trade Organization.
