About the Event

Public Artificial Intelligence systems have found an enthusiastic audience, in part, because the systems are perceived to be novel and are offered for free or at low cost. However, an examination of the “Terms of Use” - that define the “rules of the road” for these systems - reveals that use comes at a large price: privacy is lost and the intellectual properties inputted into these “free” systems are transformed in scope or altogether eliminated.

The key assets of the start up business are lost. The consumer becomes the consumed.

This presentation will discuss what are the intellectual properties and how the rights to them are affected by input into public AI systems.
